Archangel Uriel: Untangling the Threads
Channel: Victoria Cochrane | Source
Imagine you have a big ball of wool made up of different colours and lengths. The cat finds it one day and plays with it until it is a tangled mess. Now you have some work to do to untangle it all and get it in order.! Some of the threads have become knotted, while other threads have managed to stay separated
Now look at your life like a big ball of wool. Every area of your life, each one a thread, could be attributed to a colour, and of course, each of the threads are intertwined and linked. However, what if some threads of your life are so tangled that you cannot see the beginning or ending, let alone know where you are right now? What if, in the tangle, something important is missed and opportunities, friendships or relationships are lost?
Of course, life is not a ball of wool. But there are often invisible threads holding us to the past or areas of our life that no longer serve us. Sometimes, we may be aware of them, but other times they may be insidious and sabotaging without us knowing. If you are finding it difficult to overcome something, to embrace change or to make a fresh start, this may be the case for you.
It is possible, also, for different areas of your life to become intertwined, making life more complicated, if not more meaningful. Ties can be made with others through work or sport, for instance, that create long-lasting friendships and memories. However, if these ties become frayed or strained, it can affect us in other parts of our lives, such as in our health through stress, anger or grief.
Life cannot be compartmentalised, although many people try. Separating work life from one’s personal life may give privacy and a sense of self away from a public profile. However, it is not always possible and the threads inevitable become intertwined.
It is the connections people make that often deepen and enrich their experiences and thus their learning. Connecting the threads of our lives with others can be either incredibly fulfilling or create untold dramas., trauma and grief. If any threads become so old that they are irrelevant, they can just be causing clutter of the mind and should be released.
How tangled are the threads of your life? What threads from the past need releasing, and what new ones can be introduced to keep you on track? Reflection, meditation and journalling may help you to examine the threads, or areas of your life that are not aligned and that need healing or releasing.
